We're building the first health wearable for your toilet — a smart sensor that monitors your gut health and hydration effortlessly, with every flush. In the near term, our goal is to help people better understand the stories their bodies are trying to tell them. In the long term, our ambition is bold: to build the smoke detector for colon cancer that saves lives. Co-founded by John Capodilupo — co-founder and former CTO of WHOOP — with the support medical advisors from the University of Chicago, Cedars-Sinai, and MIT, partnerships with leading influencers, and a growing community of people ready to take control of their gut health. Now, we need a Health and Science Writer to help us become the most trusted voice in gut and urinary health. The Role We're looking for an exceptional writer to create long-form editorial thought leadership that sets the standard for credibility and clarity in consumer health. This is a **part-time, hands-on role** for someone who can translate dense science into genuinely useful, beautifully written articles — the kind people bookmark, share, and trust. Think of the editorial depth of Levels and the clinical empathy of Oshi Health. Your primary focus will be gut health and urinary health, but ultimately all forms of health are in scope. You'll work directly with the CEO, VP Growth, and our Chief of Science to shape how Throne educates the world — building the editorial foundation for a brand that aims to be the trusted authority in gut health. Location Remote (Part-Time, Contract) What You'll Do - **Write exceptional long-form editorial** on gut health, urinary health, hydration, and broader health topics — evidence-based, deeply researched, and genuinely useful to readers. - **Translate complex science into clarity**, turning peer-reviewed research and clinical nuance into accessible, trustworthy storytelling without dumbing it down. - **Own the editorial research process**, sourcing primary literature, citing claims accurately, and embedding inline links so every assertion is verifiable. - **Develop a distinctive editorial voice** that balances scientific rigor with warmth and readability — authoritative but never clinical or cold. - **Collaborate with our Chief of Science and medical advisors** to ensure accuracy, defensibility, and compliance with FDA health and wellness guidelines. - **Build a content engine over time**, helping shape topic strategy, editorial calendar, and the standards that define Throne's published work. - **Partner with growth and brand** to align editorial with SEO, organic discovery, and the broader narrative of the company. Who You Are - A proven long-form writer with a portfolio of editorial, journalism, or science writing — ideally in health, wellness, or medicine. - Comfortable reading and interpreting primary scientific literature, and rigorous about citing it accurately. - A gifted storyteller who can make a reader care about stool morphology, hydration, or uroflow — and trust what you tell them. - Self-directed and reliable in a part-time, remote capacity — you manage your own process and consistently ship high-quality work. - Energized by an early-stage, mission-driven environment where your words help define a category.
