Healthcare IT Configuration Specialist — RCM, EHR Integration & Medical Billing (HIPAA Certified)

We are growing fast and need a sharp, detail-oriented Healthcare IT Configuration Specialist to serve as the operational backbone of our client delivery team. ROLE OVERVIEW This is a long-term, part-time (20–30 hrs/week) remote contract position with strong growth potential. You will own the technical setup and ongoing configuration of our AI-powered solutions across client EHR environments, with a heavy focus on payer configuration, medical billing accuracy, and HIPAA-compliant workflows. This role consolidates responsibilities previously split across Implementation, RCM Consulting, and Technical Support — making you the single point of contact for client technical operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES EHR Integration & Configuration • Configure and maintain EHR integrations (eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, Epic, Kareo, DrChrono, Modernizing Medicine) • Set up and manage payer configuration panels for prior authorization automation • Build and maintain clearinghouse connections (Change Healthcare, Availity, Office Ally) • Map CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS code libraries per specialty and configure billing rules Revenue Cycle Management • Set up fee schedules, payer-specific modifiers, and billing rules • Audit clean claim rates and identify denial root causes • Track AR aging metrics and flag issues proactively • Support appeals and resubmission workflows Client Onboarding & Platform Support • Onboard 2–4 new clients per month to our AI platforms • Deliver technical training and create SOPs for client admin teams • Troubleshoot integration errors and document resolutions • Maintain internal configuration logs and knowledge base REQUIREMENTS ✅ AAPC Certification (CPC, CPC-H, or equivalent) — required ✅ 3+ years experience in medical billing, RCM, or healthcare IT configuration ✅ Hands-on experience with at least 2 major EHR platforms ✅ Proficiency with clearinghouse portals and major payer portals ✅ Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and PHI handling ✅ English proficiency — written and verbal (B2 minimum) ✅ Available to overlap with US Eastern Time (minimum 4 hours/day) ✅ Reliable internet connection and dedicated, private workspace NICE TO HAVE ⭐ Experience with AI-assisted prior authorization or coding tools ⭐ Knowledge of specialty billing (dermatology, cosmetic, behavioral health) ⭐ Familiarity with value-based care reporting (MACRA/MIPS) PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT Shortlisted candidates will complete a brief paid skills assessment (~30 minutes): "A client using eClinicalWorks is experiencing a high denial rate on prior authorization claims for a dermatology practice.
