Help Me Setup Claude Code Correctly for Existing Project

Summary

I’m trying to get Claude Code working with my existing development workflow and honestly I’m getting frustrated with setup. I have an existing codebase and want Claude integrated properly, but I feel like I’m missing something because results have been inconsistent. Need help with: Claude Code setup Repository configuration GitHub integration Project context setup Folder/file permissions Best practices so Claude actually understands the project Bonus if you understand CLAUDE.md and can help structure the project so Claude gives better coding assistance. This should probably be a quick job for someone experienced. Looking for someone who has actually worked with Claude Code and not just general AI tools.
