Help to adapt an Existing Snow Roller Design and Prepare Production Drawings
Worldwide
I am looking for a mechanical design / CAD freelancer to help adapt an existing, proven snow roller design and prepare clear technical drawings for production. The product is a towed snow roller used to compact snow, primarily for preparing cross-country ski tracks and similar winter surfaces. The current construction has already been built, tested, and used in real working conditions for many years. This is not a full product development project from zero. The main concept, construction direction, and functional requirements are already defined by me. I will provide sketches, photos, measurements, explanations, and existing reference materials. The freelancer’s role is to help turn my concept into proper CAD models and production drawings, and to support me with practical engineering details where needed. Scope of work The work will mainly include: - Creating CAD models and production drawings based on my sketches and instructions - Adapting the existing snow roller design to new dimensions - Advising on practical manufacturing details such as bend radii, flat patterns, tolerances, hole sizes, weld details, and material thicknesses - Helping identify possible manufacturing limitations before the drawings are finalized I would like to work step by step over a few days: I provide sketches and ideas, we discuss practical limitations or improvements, and then we move toward the final drawings. The goal is to produce simple, robust, and practical documentation to send to subcontractors for manufacturing. Communication I am based in Sweden and can communicate in English. I also speak Russian and am happy to communicate in Russian if that is convenient. Since the Russian language can be a sensitive matter at the moment, I would like to be clear from the beginning to avoid any misunderstanding: I consider Russia to be the aggressor in the war, Crimea is Ukrainian, Ukraine must win, and Russia must end the war. Confidentiality I may ask the selected freelancer to sign a simple NDA before receiving the full technical materials. The purpose is only to protect the product concept, drawings, and manufacturing details. Preferred project format I would prefer to work on a fixed-price basis. Before starting the full job, I am happy to discuss the exact scope, required deliverables, and expected level of detail. Ideal freelancer The ideal freelancer has experience with: - Mechanical design - Steel constructions - Welded structures - Sheet metal and laser-cut parts - Practical manufacturing drawings - Agricultural, snow, trailer, or other rugged equipment I am looking for someone practical, accurate, and easy to communicate with — someone who can help convert a proven product idea into clear, manufacturable drawings without overcomplicating the design.
