Help me to test an Android App

You will receive the APK file for the new smart phone version of Converter App: https://converter.app/ Install the app and test all important functions using the provided checklist. During testing: Write down every problem you find. Include the exact steps, expected result, and actual result. Add screenshots or screen recordings when possible. Include your phone model and Android version. Send each issue to me so I can fix it. After a fix, install the new APK and test the affected feature again. Once all features work correctly, create several clean and professional screenshots of the app that can be used for the Google Play Store listing. There are not too many bugs expected since I already tested myself but we still need to do through testing! ------------------------- Here is the checklist: # Converter App — Tester Guide (2.0.0, versionCode 9, RC1) Thanks for testing! This build is the fully native rebuild of the Converter App. Everything below takes about 30–40 minutes end to end. ## Install 1. Copy `ConverterApp-2.0.0-rc1.apk` to your phone (or download it there). 2. Open the file; when Android warns about unknown apps, allow your browser/file manager to install unknown apps (Settings link appears in the dialog). This build is test-signed — that warning is expected. 3. If an older Converter App is installed and installation fails, uninstall it first (Settings → Apps → Converter App → Uninstall). **In the EU/UK:** on first launch a consent dialog appears. Please test both paths at least once — "Consent" and "Manage options → decline" (reinstall to see it again). Outside the EEA no dialog should appear. ## What to test (checklist) ### Basics - [ ] App opens to the blue "What do you want to convert?" screen - [ ] Dark mode looks right (toggle system dark mode) - [ ] Rotate the phone on a few screens — nothing breaks or loses state ### Convert & compress - [ ] "Compress video" with a phone-recorded video → result plays, is smaller, saves to Downloads - [ ] "Video to MP3" with any video → MP3 plays - [ ] "All formats" → pick any file → sensible target options appear → convert works - [ ] Start a conversion, immediately switch to another app → notification appears; result is there when you return - [ ] Settings → "Upload only on Wi-Fi" ON, then start a big conversion on mobile data → job waits; "Upload now" overrides ### Transcription - [ ] "Transcribe audio" with a voice note → readable text - [ ] "Record audio" on Home → record a sentence → transcribe it ### PDF tools - [ ] Sign & annotate: draw a signature in the dialog, place it on the page, save → open the result, signature is exactly where you put it - [ ] Sign & annotate: pen + highlight + Undo behave as expected - [ ] Combine two PDFs → order matches the list; reorder and re-check - [ ] Split a PDF with "1-2" → result has exactly those pages - [ ] Photos to PDF with 3+ camera photos → tidy single PDF ### Sharing in & out - [ ] Share a photo from Gallery → Converter App appears → sensible suggestions - [ ] Share 3 photos at once → lands in Photos to PDF - [ ] Share a PDF from WhatsApp/Files → suggestions include Sign, Split, Word - [ ] From a result: Share → send to another app; Open → opens in a viewer ### Ads & consent (important) - [ ] A small banner may appear at the bottom of Home — never covering content - [ ] After a conversion finishes, a full-screen ad may appear at most every 3 minutes — never blocking Save/Share (they're available after closing it) - [ ] EU decline path: with consent declined, NO ads appear anywhere ### Accessibility (if you can) - [ ] TalkBack: Home cards and the result screen are announced sensibly - [ ] Large font size (Settings → Display) — no clipped/overlapping text ## Known limitations in this build - The app is test-signed; Play Protect may warn on install — expected. - Links from converter.app open in the app only after a server file goes live (App Links verification) — not testable yet. - Very exotic PDFs (JPEG2000-compressed scans) may not render in the markup editor.
