High-Speed Connector / Signal Integrity Engineer for Custom Ethernet Connector Development
Worldwide
We are developing a new pre-terminated structured cabling system and are looking for an experienced engineer to help redesign a custom high-speed connector for improved Ethernet performance and certification compliance. The connector is a compact circular multi-pin connector used for two Ethernet channels (16 conductors / 8 differential pairs total) and must support reliable Cat6A-level performance while remaining small enough to pass through standard 3/4” conduit. We are currently experiencing Near-End Crosstalk (NEXT) failures during Fluke DSX-8000 certification testing and are seeking an engineer with strong experience in: High-speed connector design Signal integrity (SI) Differential pair routing Crosstalk reduction High-frequency connector geometry Precision plastic connector design Ethernet / telecom connectors Project Goals We need assistance with: Redesigning pin geometry and pair grouping Reducing NEXT and improving signal integrity Optimizing differential pair isolation Designing internal plastic isolation structures/ribs Improving PCB trace routing and contact layout Reviewing mechanical connector structure Supporting prototype iteration and testing Preparing manufacturable CAD concepts for factory development Current Connector Overview Current concept includes: Circular 16-pin male/female connector Pins arranged radially around connector body Internal circular PCB Compact design intended for conduit installation Two Ethernet channels within one connector Factory-terminated structured cabling system Preferred Experience Strong preference for candidates with experience in: Cat6A / Cat7 connectors RJ45 or telecom connectors Automotive high-speed connectors RF connector design Amphenol, TE Connectivity, Molex, Foxconn, Huawei, Luxshare, or similar background Injection molded connector systems High-speed differential pair design SI simulation tools Deliverables Expected deliverables may include: Connector redesign concepts Pin grouping recommendations Isolation geometry recommendations PCB/contact layout guidance CAD models or engineering sketches Design-for-manufacturing recommendations Signal integrity recommendations Prototype support Important Requirements The connector must: Remain compact enough to fit through standard 3/4” conduit Support reliable mating cycles Be manufacturable at scale Improve Fluke DSX-8000 certification results Specifically improve NEXT performance To Apply Please include: Relevant connector projects Signal integrity experience High-speed connector examples Any telecom / Ethernet connector work CAD tools used Availability for ongoing collaboration We are looking for a long-term engineering partner as this product evolves into a larger networking hardware ecosystem.
