Highly skilled video editor & marketer — launch trailer for an indie AI desktop companion (Steam)

Summary

Summary I'm a solo indie developer launching my Windows app, Desktop Companion, in Early Access on Steam (it has sold for months on itch.io as "Desktop AI Companion"). I'm looking for a highly skilled video editor with a real marketing brain to create a ~90 second launch trailer. This is a collaboration, not just an editing gig. I'll record all the raw screen footage myself, so your role is to define the structure, tell me exactly what to capture, and turn it into something that sells. Figuring out the best script, order and pacing is a core part of the job. Current page and site for context: https://dokk75.itch.io/desktop-ai-companion The product Desktop Companion is an always-on-top animated AI companion (Live2D/VRM avatar) that lives on your Windows desktop. It sees your screen, talks by voice and text, remembers your conversations, ships with 9 hand-crafted characters (or build your own), supports local high-quality voice cloning, speaks 8 languages, and runs on local or cloud AI models with no subscription. The key differentiator, and the reason for this trailer, is a brand-new tools layer I just finished. The companion doesn't only chat, it acts: it can search the web, read pages, pull live Reddit and X/Twitter trends, control Spotify, check the weather, create Word/Excel/note files, open apps and folders, and stay aware of what's on screen. A wave of low-effort clones has copied my basic AI companion idea on Steam, and this tools layer is what sets mine apart. The trailer must make that obvious fast. Who I'm looking for An editor who is also a marketer: someone who thinks in hooks, pacing and retention, with experience on app, software or game trailers (not a generic corporate-explainer look). The audience is young and visually fluent, in the AI companion / anime / VTuber / gaming space, so the trailer needs personality and a strong hook in the first 3 to 5 seconds (it autoplays muted on Steam). What the trailer should cover (order and structure are up to you) The feel I want is a mix of feature showcase and a "day with your AI companion" story. This is what should appear, not a running order. Building the actual script and pacing is part of the job: - The new tools layer in action: a quick single command (e.g. live X trends, or "play me a work playlist") for responsiveness, and a compound command (e.g. web search or Reddit, then the companion creates an Excel/note on its own) to show it really doing things. - A vision-mode gaming demo: at least two short clips of the Gaming Buddy character reacting to what's happening on screen while playing. - The redesigned config panel UI, shown briefly where useful. - A dynamic character montage (all 9, or fewer if tighter, your call), landing on the idea that the possibilities are endless and the user's imagination is the only limit. The companion's own voice carrying the demo (built-in text-to-speech): you ask, it answers out loud. Target ~90 seconds, open to your recommendation. Deliverables A script and storyboard you build from the elements above. A precise shot list telling me what to record (scene, on-screen content, framing, length). Full edit: pacing, motion graphics, on-screen captions, royalty-free music and SFX, color and polish. 1080p, 16:9, Steam-ready, plus a short vertical cutdown for social if relevant. Master project file included. What I provide All raw recordings per your shot list, a written brief of the tools and day-in-the-life scenarios, logo, brand colors and fonts, and PNGs of the character illustrations. To apply Share a portfolio with relevant work (app/software/game trailers or dynamic, hook-driven edits). Tell me briefly how you'd hook this audience in the first 5 seconds and make the trailer stand out from the clones. Confirm you can help with script and marketing direction, not only editing. Include your rate and rough timeline.
