Informix/4GL Developer — Knowledge Backfill OVERVIEW Omega Moulding is a US-based manufacturer and distributor of picture framing products. Our operations run on IBM Informix/4GL, hosted in a fully managed environment. Performance, backups, upgrades, and database maintenance are handled by our hosting provider — this role is purely development-focused. We are expanding our internal Informix/4GL capability by bringing on a qualified developer for an ongoing, part-time remote contract. This is a long-term engagement for the right person. You will work directly with our internal technical team, build familiarity with our production Informix/4GL environment, and contribute to a modernization effort that is actively under way. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Work alongside our Informix/4GL expert to administer, maintain, and support the existing system - Assist with routine maintenance, query optimization, and bug fixes in our Informix/4GL environment - Document the existing system - Write import/export functions to a variety of systems using API and formatted files - Write reports for financial reporting and other needs - Write, troubleshoot and document 4GL stored procedures REQUIRED SKILLS - IBM Informix/4GL Development are essential - Strong SQL skills with a focus on 4GL Stored Procedures - Experience with stored procedures, triggers, and schema management in Informix/4GL - Ability to document - Clear written and spoken English NICE TO HAVE - Familiarity with ERP in a Manufacturing/Warehouse environment - Familiarity with Red Hat Linux - Prior experience in manufacturing or distribution industry systems ENGAGEMENT TERMS This engagement is 100% remote. We are looking for 10 to 20 hours per week on an ongoing basis. Hours are flexible but you must be available for meetings during the US working day. Candidates based outside the US are welcome provided this requirement can be met. Work will be coordinated via video calls and messaging. You will work closely with our internal team and should be comfortable asking questions, providing regular status updates, and flagging blockers proactively.
