# Icon Designer — Dental Clinical Icon System (Contract) **CoDentist** · Remote · Contract / Freelance _(open to part-time or full-time for the right person)_ --- ## About the role CoDentist is building a modern, AI-powered dental practice platform. We're creating a comprehensive icon system — roughly **250 icons** spanning every CDT procedure, patient tag, clinical finding, and workflow state — and we want it drawn by hand, to a professional standard, by someone who sweats the details. This is not a logo or brand gig. It's a large, systematic icon library where every glyph has to feel like it came from the same hand, stay legible at 16–24px, and — critically — be **clinically accurate**. A tooth needs to look like a tooth; a root canal, an implant, and a crown each have to read correctly to a dentist glancing at a chart. We already have a design brief: grid, stroke weights, color/material conventions, dental-charting rules, category taxonomy, and reference art. You'd be executing and elevating against that spec, not starting from a blank page. ## What you'll do - Design a cohesive set of ~250 vector icons across categories (exams, restorative, crowns, endo, implants, surgery, perio, prosthodontics, patient/clinical flags, and AI radiograph findings, plus admin/scheduling/financial/insurance tags). - Work on a fixed grid with consistent stroke and optical sizing so the whole set reads as one system. - Follow standard dental charting conventions (e.g., missing = dashed outline, RCT = canal lines, restorations by material) — with a clinician reviewing for accuracy. - Deliver clean, optimized, production-ready SVGs with sensible naming, plus source files. - Iterate quickly from feedback and keep the library consistent as it grows. ## Background we're looking for - Proven experience designing **icon systems or pictogram sets at scale** (please show a cohesive multi-icon set in your portfolio, not one-off illustrations). - Strong vector craft in **Figma and/or Illustrator**, with clean **SVG** output and optimization. - A real understanding of grid systems, stroke discipline, and **small-size legibility / pixel hinting**. - Comfort producing high volume while holding a consistent visual language. ## Nice to have - A **medical or scientific illustration** background, or prior **healthcare / clinical product** design. - Any dental exposure at all (or you're excited to learn the conventions and work closely with our clinical reviewer). - Experience handing off icon libraries to engineering (tokens, sprites, or icon fonts). ## Engagement & scope - **Type:** Contract / project-based _(retainer or full-time possible)_. - **Scope:** ~250 icons, delivered in phased batches by category. - **Location:** Remote. - **Compensation:** [insert rate / range — e.g., project fee or $X–$Y/hr]. ## How to apply Send: 1.
