Illustrator / Concept Artist for Education

We're WorkED, a curriculum company building hands-on STEAM kits for K–8 classrooms. We're redesigning our flashcard system, currently ~150 different card decks across handouts, activity cards, certificates, and badge - into a unified design system that works equally well as physical prints (3.5×5 cardstock, 8.5×11 handouts, sticker sheets) and digital cards in our app. We're also developing a small cast of recurring characters that show up across the cards, the packaging, and the curriculum. We need someone who can do both halves: build the flashcard design system (layouts, type, grid, color, iconography that scales across formats) and develop concept art + characters with enough personality to feel like a real world, not generic edu-tech. It's an ongoing project, heavier up front while we build the system and character cast, then steady production work as we roll cards out across new curriculum. To keep things efficient, please share your portfolio first (especially anything kid-facing, illustrated systems, or character work). From there we'll pick a few candidates for a small paid test project before going further.
