Cartoon Illustrator / Character Designer for Veteran Coffee Brand, Social Media Comics & Merchandise We are building a veteran-owned coffee brand called 3 Seamen Coffee and are looking for a talented illustrator with a strong sense of humor to help bring the brand to life. This is a three-part project that will begin later this year, with ongoing work available for the right artist. Part 1: Coffee Bag Design We need someone experienced in creating packaging artwork for coffee bags. The style should be: - Cartoonish - Bold and memorable - Funny and slightly edgy - Highly shareable on social media - Capable of developing recurring characters and visual themes Our brand centers around sailors, military culture, sea stories, and veteran humor. Think less corporate coffee packaging and more collectible artwork that people want to display. Experience with product packaging is strongly preferred. Part 2: Navy-Themed Social Media Cartoons We are also developing a series of short Navy-themed cartoon stories for Instagram, TikTok, and other social platforms. Projects will typically consist of: - 8 to 22 illustrated panels/images per story (think Instagram 1080 x 1350) - Recurring characters - Satirical military humor - Story-based content - Meme-worthy moments - Veteran and sailor culture I will help develop story concepts and scripts, but creative collaboration is encouraged. Examples of themes: - Ridiculous sea stories - Junior sailor mistakes - Officer vs enlisted humor - Port call adventures - Military bureaucracy - Veteran life after service - Coffee addiction at sea Part 3: Merchandise Design As the brand grows, we will also be creating merchandise based on our characters, stories, and coffee products. Potential projects include: - T-shirts - Hoodies - Hats - Stickers - Patches - Challenge coins - Posters - Coffee mugs - Other military and veteran-themed merchandise The ideal artist understands how to create artwork that looks great not only on social media but also on physical products people actually want to buy and wear. Ideal Candidate - Strong illustration skills - Experience designing cartoon characters - Experience with packaging design - Good storytelling ability - Comfortable with satire and military humor - Military or Navy experience is a major plus - Veteran artists are highly encouraged to apply Important Notes: - We expect to hire multiple artists and designers for this project if needed. - You do not need to be an expert in all three areas to apply. - If you specialize in packaging, comics, merchandise, or character design, we still encourage you to apply. - Long-term opportunities are available for artists who become a good fit for the brand. Ownership of all final artwork and commercial rights must transfer to 3 Seamen Coffee upon payment. 3seamen.com
