Illustrator / Playing Card Designer for Themed Collectible Decks (ongoing, per-deck)

We're Shuffle Club — we design themed, collectible playing card decks that turn an everyday object into a conversation piece. Our Golf Deck is an Amazon's Choice favorite, and we're expanding fast across Western, tarot-inspired, seasonal, and brand-collab themes. Every deck is illustrated in-house and printed on premium casino-grade linen stock. We're looking for a freelance illustrator/designer to join our rotation and take individual decks from concept to print-ready files. We launch new decks continuously, so if the first project goes well, this becomes steady, ongoing work — we'll send you a new deck as often as you can deliver quality. What you'll design (per deck) 52 cards + jokers built around a single theme, with a cohesive visual world Reimagined court cards (J/Q/K) illustrated for the theme — this is where decks win or lose Custom pips, card backs, and an ace of spades A bespoke tuck box with space for foil accents Small "Easter egg" details tucked into the artwork for players to find What we're looking for A strong illustration portfolio — ideally character/editorial work, packaging, or prior card/game design Ability to hold a consistent style across 54+ pieces and across future decks Comfort delivering print-ready files to spec (bleed, CMYK, dielines) — or a fast learner who'll work to our printer's template Reliable communication and the ability to hit a per-deck timeline (we'll agree on this together; our internal benchmark is roughly one deck every ~2 weeks) Nice to have Experience with foil/specialty print finishes Your own ideas for themes — we love collaborators, not just executors To apply Send your portfolio (a link is fine) and, in one or two sentences, tell us: which existing deck or theme of ours you'd redesign or add, and the one detail you'd obsess over.
