Illustrator for Nonfiction Picture Book

Seeking an illustrator for a 32-page nonfiction picture story book. The book is about a young boy who discovers ladybirds after he has transplant surgery. The book runs two narratives, one is the boys reality with illness, coping and recovery and the other is something greater...the unseen world where he finds a connection to his deceased donor. I'm looking for strong characters that are able to express human emotion, beautiful emersive nature scenes and an ethereal cosmic unseen world. The project requires 40 full-color illustrations, with a deadline of 6 months. The ideal candidate will have experience in children's book illustration and a strong portfolio showcasing their work.
