Illustrator needed for Kids' Educational Printable Activity Packs (ongoing work)

Summary

I'm building a shop selling printable, digital-download educational activity packs for kids ages 3–6. I'm looking for an illustrator or graphic designer to create original artwork and page layouts for these packs, with the potential for ongoing monthly to bi-monthly work (not a one-off project). I have attached some samples of the styles I am considering. These are AI-drawn, so they don't accurately reflect what real animals, insects or plants look like, but the minimalist, ink-saving styles are what I am most interested in. The drawings need to look as much like the real thing as possible. What I need - Original, printable-ready page designs for kids' activity packs: tracing pages, counting/shape pages, matching games, seasonal activity sheets, and similar formats. - Each pack is typically 15–20 pages, built around a single theme (e.g., "Alphabet Tracing," "Counting to 20," "Fine Motor Busy Binder"). Two visual style directions I'm choosing between — please review both and tell me which you're strongest in, or submit a sample in whichever fits your style: + Style A — Bold, ink-saving lineart: thick black outlines, minimal color (one accent color per page), clean and modern rather than "cutesy." Designed partly to save parents' printer ink, so this is a real functional constraint, not just an aesthetic. + Style B — Vintage nature-journal / field-guide: muted earthy tones, botanical/specimen-label aesthetic, serif typography, feels collectible rather than childish. * Every page must be delivered print-ready in both US Letter (8.5x11in) and A4 sizes. * Final files as print-ready PDF, plus editable source files (Canva, Illustrator, or Procreate — whichever you work in) so I can request minor edits later. Ideal candidate - Experience designing for TPT (Teachers Pay Teachers), Etsy printables, or similar kids'/educational digital products strongly preferred — you understand what needs to look like on a worksheet page (clear instruction areas, tracing guides, activity boxes) versus general illustration. - Alternatively: genuine enjoyment of children's/educational illustration, even without direct TPT experience — a strong portfolio in a relevant style matters more than platform-specific experience. - Comfortable working from a written brief and reference mockups (I'll share style references on request). - Reliable communication and realistic turnaround estimates — I'll be working with you on an ongoing monthly basis, not just one project. Scope & pricing - Trial project: 1 pack (15–20 pages) to start, so we can confirm fit before committing to ongoing work. - Ongoing rate: approximately $15 USD per completed pack, roughly 15–20 pages each, delivered monthly (~4 packs/month once we're working together regularly). - Open to adjusting rate for more complex packs (40+ pages, more detailed illustration) — happy to discuss per-pack pricing based on scope. To apply, please share: 1. A portfolio link or 3–5 samples pages of relevant work (kids' educational content, worksheets, or printables preferred; general illustration okay if strong). 2. Which style (A or B above) you feel best suits your work, or examples of both if you can do either. 3. Your typical turnaround time for a ~15-page pack. 4. Your rate expectations per pack (my estimate above is a starting point, not fixed). Looking forward to seeing your work!
