InDesign Book Formatting

I am looking for an experienced book designer or InDesign specialist to update an existing book layout file and prepare final print and ebook files. The project involves adding a new prologue from a Microsoft Word document into an existing Adobe InDesign book file. The selected designer must be comfortable working with long-form book interiors, table of contents updates, page count adjustments, ebook conversion, and print-ready formatting for Amazon KDP. Scope of Work The designer will be responsible for: Adding a new prologue from a Word file into the existing InDesign book layout Formatting the prologue so it matches the existing book style, typography, margins, spacing, and design elements Adjusting the table of contents to include the new prologue and updated page numbers Updating the overall page count throughout the book Ensuring chapters, headings, pagination, and section breaks remain consistent Adding or adjusting any necessary design elements so the new section blends seamlessly with the existing interior layout Reviewing the full InDesign file after the prologue is added to ensure no layout issues, widows/orphans, spacing problems, or broken formatting appear Adjusting the title design/cover layout to meet Amazon KDP specifications, including any spine, trim size, bleed, margin, and page-count-related requirements Preparing final print-ready files suitable for Amazon KDP upload Creating an ebook version of the book Exporting and testing an EPUB file Creating a KPF file suitable for Kindle publishing through Amazon KDP Required Experience The ideal candidate should have: Strong experience with Adobe InDesign Experience formatting books for print and digital publishing Familiarity with Amazon KDP print and Kindle ebook specifications Experience creating EPUB and KPF files Ability to work with Microsoft Word files and transfer content cleanly into InDesign Strong eye for typography, layout consistency, and professional book design Experience adjusting book covers or title designs based on page count and print specifications Attention to detail and ability to preserve the existing style of a book Deliverables Final deliverables should include: Updated Adobe InDesign file Print-ready interior PDF Updated cover/title design file adjusted to Amazon KDP specifications Print-ready cover PDF for Amazon KDP Ebook EPUB file Kindle KPF file Any linked fonts, images, or design assets required for the final file, if applicable Additional Notes The existing InDesign file, Word document containing the prologue, and current cover/title design files will be provided. The designer should ensure all updates are professionally integrated and ready for upload to Amazon KDP in both print and ebook formats.
