InDesign Expert and Graphic Designer Needed for Ongoing Text-Heavy Editorial Project

We're looking for a skilled Adobe InDesign specialist to join our team for an ongoing editorial design project. This is a long-term collaboration ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, fast, and comfortable working with dense, text-heavy layouts. About the Project: We regularly produce editorial content (books, reports, magazines, or similar long-form documents) that requires clean, professional formatting and layout in InDesign. The work involves taking manuscript or raw text content and transforming it into polished, publication-ready documents with consistent styling throughout. Responsibilities: Format and lay out text-heavy documents in Adobe InDesign, following established style guides and templates Apply and maintain consistent paragraph styles, character styles, and master pages Work with running heads, footnotes, page numbers, tables of contents, and other editorial elements Incorporate images, charts, tables, and graphics where needed while maintaining visual consistency Prepare final files for both print and digital (PDF/eBook) output Make revisions based on editorial feedback in a timely manner Maintain organized, well-structured InDesign files (linked assets, proper naming conventions, etc.) Requirements: Proven experience with Adobe InDesign for long-form, text-heavy documents (books, reports, journals, etc.) Strong eye for typography, spacing, and layout consistency Ability to work efficiently with large volumes of text without sacrificing quality Familiarity with print production standards (bleeds, margins, color modes, etc.) Good communication skills and ability to meet deadlines Experience with Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator is a plus Portfolio showcasing similar editorial/publication design work Project Details: This is an ongoing role with a steady flow of documents Please share relevant samples of past editorial/book layout work when applying Include your typical turnaround time for a standard chapter or document If you have a strong background in editorial design and enjoy working with text-heavy content, we'd love to hear from you!
