Independent NLP Expert Review of Kannada–English Parallel Infrastructure Corpus

Job Description I have developed a Kannada–English parallel corpus focused on the infrastructure domain, designed to support machine translation and other NLP tasks for Kannada, a low-resource language that is significantly underrepresented in modern language technologies despite having millions of speakers. The dataset consists of carefully curated bilingual sentence pairs that are: Semantically equivalent, preserving the intended meaning across both languages. Syntactically well-aligned, maintaining natural grammatical structure where appropriate. Terminologically consistent, particularly for domain-specific infrastructure vocabulary. Symbolically and structurally aligned, ensuring numbers, units, punctuation, formatting, and named entities are accurately preserved across translations. Quality-controlled to support downstream NLP applications such as machine translation, multilingual language models, and cross-lingual information retrieval. I am seeking an experienced Python/NLP expert to conduct an independent technical review of the dataset. This is not a development project or annotation task. The objective is to evaluate the corpus methodology, alignment quality, and overall suitability for NLP research and model training. Deliverables The selected freelancer will: Independently review the dataset and its methodology. Assess the quality and consistency of the bilingual sentence alignments. Evaluate the corpus' suitability for training and evaluating NLP models for low-resource languages. Provide constructive feedback and recommendations, if applicable. Submit a signed and dated Letter of Support/Technical Review summarizing their independent assessment. The letter should include the reviewer's name, professional affiliation (if applicable), qualifications, signature, and date.
