QA Engineer (GIS / Visualization Applications) Contract: 6 Months Experience: 5+ Years Location: Remote Key Requirements Bachelor’s/Master’s in CS, Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or related field 5+ years QA experience (preferably scientific/engineering/visualization apps) Strong understanding of spatial data, coordinate systems, and large datasets Basic knowledge of GIS systems (ArcGIS Server, map services, data pipelines) Understanding of SDLC/STLC and testing types (Functional, Regression, Integration, Performance, UAT) Experience with Jira / Azure DevOps and test case management Familiar with Agile/Scrum environments Basic test automation/scripting knowledge Strong analytical and communication skills Responsibilities Design and execute test cases for visualization and GIS-based applications Validate data rendering, spatial accuracy, and UI workflows Test integration between frontend visualization and backend GIS services Perform regression, functional, and exploratory testing Identify, log, and track defects with clear reproduction steps Support test environment setup and data validation Collaborate with developers and product teams in Agile sprints Nice to Have Knowledge of upstream oil & gas workflows Experience with 2D/3D rendering or graphics-heavy applications API testing and data validation experience Performance testing for visualization-heavy systems
