Job Title: Industrial Designer for Minor Refresh of Access Control / Intercom Product Line Category: Product Design → Industrial Design Project Type: Fixed-price (or hourly, your preference) Experience Level: Intermediate to Expert Job Description We’re a hardware company looking for an experienced industrial designer to refresh an existing line of access control / intercom products. The current design was developed by a previous firm a few years ago, and we want to bring it up to date with a light, modern facelift — not a ground-up redesign. The product line consists of a family of wall-mounted devices across a few size variants (SKUs) that share a common design language. We’re looking to refine the existing form rather than reinvent it. Scope of Work Refine the existing form language while keeping the core silhouette and product identity intact Apply the refreshed direction consistently across the size variants in the line Update CMF (colors, materials, finishes) for a more current look Provide production-ready surface CAD for handoff to engineering Deliver a set of high-quality renderings for marketing and internal review Deliverables 2–3 refreshed design directions to choose from Selected direction applied across all SKUs Surface CAD files for each SKU, ready for engineering CMF specification Final rendering package What We’re Looking For Strong portfolio in consumer or commercial hardware / electronics design Experience designing for manufacturing (injection-molded enclosures, wall-mounted devices, etc.) Proficiency in surface CAD (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, or similar) High-quality rendering capability (KeyShot or equivalent) Ability to work efficiently within a defined, limited scope To Apply, Please Include A portfolio with relevant hardware / product design work A brief note on your approach to a design refresh of this kind Your estimated timeline and cost for the scope above The CAD and rendering tools you use
