Industrial Designer for Premium Hardware

Industrial Designer Needed – Premium Consumer Hardware Product I'm developing a premium consumer hardware product intended for the European market, with a French retail launch as the primary target. The product includes a small display and will be manufactured using high-quality materials. It sits in the lifestyle/home category and needs to reflect a strong design identity — think Lexon, Muji, early Withings. The product is designed for mass production. I'm looking for an experienced industrial designer who: - Has a proven track record in premium consumer product design - Is familiar with European market standards and aesthetics - Can deliver hand-sketched concept explorations as well as clean 3D renders - Has worked on products involving displays or similar interfaces - Is comfortable collaborating with an electronics engineering firm throughout the process What I'm NOT looking for: AI-generated visuals (Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, etc.). I want a real designer with a genuine creative process. Scope of this mission: I will share a full brief after signing an NDA. The brief is detailed and comprehensive. Based on it, I expect 3 distinct design directions: - Direction 1: follows the brief as provided, with one design proposal faithful to the specifications - Directions 2 & 3: take more creative liberties — reframing the product's form, core functions, or usage experience while staying true to the premium positioning For all three directions, deliverables include: - Hand sketches and concept exploration - Detailed work on the physical interface: buttons, pictograms, screen, readability, and nighttime usability - 3D modeling under SolidWorks - Photorealistic renders - A presentation PDF Once a direction is selected, the designer will work alongside an electronics engineering firm to ensure the design is technically feasible and to make any necessary adjustments before prototyping. Ownership: all files, source documents, 3D models, renders and design rights will be fully transferred to me upon delivery.
