Summary K7 is an technology company developing next generation hydrogen systems for cooking and heating applications. The company operates internationally with projects and personnel in Abu Dhabi, UK, with additional global expansion planned. As the organization grows and begins handling sensitive legal, HR, engineering, and intellectual property documents, we are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure & Security Consultant to help design and implement a secure and scalable technology foundation. Role Overview K7 is seeking a highly experienced IT infrastructure and cybersecurity specialist to evaluate, design, and improve the company’s internal IT architecture. This role will focus on securing and optimizing our Microsoft 365 environment, SharePoint document architecture, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity posture while ensuring systems remain efficient and easy to use for a distributed international team. The consultant will work closely with company leadership to identify quick improvements ("low-hanging fruit") while developing a long-term strategy for secure and scalable IT operations. Key Responsibilities Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Architecture • Evaluate and optimize the current Microsoft 365 tenant • Design and implement a secure SharePoint document structure • Configure permission layers for sensitive content, including: - HR documents - legal files - intellectual property • Implement best-practice access control policies Identity & Security Management • Implement secure identity and access management • Configure multi-factor authentication and conditional access policies • Improve security for internal and external collaboration • Review existing security posture and recommend improvements Email Security & Spam Protection • Diagnose and resolve ongoing spam and phishing issues • Implement advanced email security protections • Evaluate improvements to Microsoft Defender or third-party security tools Cybersecurity Platform Evaluation • Evaluate and recommend security platforms such as: - Microsoft Defender - CrowdStrike - SentinelOne - other enterprise security tools • Organize vendor discussions and assist with technical evaluation • Support implementation of the selected solution Cloud Infrastructure & AWS Review • Review existing AWS infrastructure supporting Odoo ERP • Ensure best practices for: - server security - access management - data protection - backups • Identify opportunities to leverage AWS services for future use cases such as: - operational data collection - simulation and compute workloads Long-Term IT Architecture • Develop a scalable IT infrastructure strategy supporting operations across: - UAE - UK - future international locations • Recommend tools and systems for secure collaboration and data management • Ensure systems remain flexible as the company grows Qualifications • 8+ years experience in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity • Deep experience with Microsoft 365 administration and SharePoint architecture • Experience implementing enterprise security frameworks • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) • Experience supporting distributed teams across multiple countries • Ability to translate complex IT systems into practical business solutions Preferred Experience Experience working with: • engineering or manufacturing companies • startups or fast-growing technology firms • cloud-based ERP systems such as Odoo • cybersecurity platforms such as CrowdStrike or Microsoft Defender Key Deliverables Initial engagement will focus on: • security audit of Microsoft 365 environment • SharePoint architecture redesign • spam and email security remediation • AWS infrastructure review Follow-on work may include implementation of improved security systems and long-term IT infrastructure planning. Engagement This role will likely begin as a short-term infrastructure audit and implementation engagement (approximately 40–60 hours), with the potential for ongoing fractional IT leadership as the company grows.
