2D Interior Designer — New-Construction Home 2D Working Drawings & Material Specifications Texas Project Overview This project is a custom single-family home (approximately 5,900 A/C SFT) located in USA. Architectural drawings are being finalized, and I am now looking for an experienced interior designer to develop the home’s interior design working drawings. The home is intended to have a clean, airy, luxury-modern feel with abundant natural light and a timeless aesthetic. My focus at this stage is on the core interior design, materials, and architectural detailing — not full-service furnishing or décor. This is a documentation-focused engagement. We need precise, build-ready 2D drawings that my architect, builder, and trades can work from. What I Need (Scope of Work) I am looking for a designer who is highly proficient in 2D drafting and can produce a complete set of interior design working drawings, including: 1. 2D interior elevations for every room/area of the home — each elevation drawn floor to ceiling, covering all four walls (all four sides) of each space. This is the core of the project. 2. 2D plans as needed — dimensioned floor plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, and lighting/switching layouts where relevant. 3. Material and finish specifications listed directly on each sheet — every drawing sheet should clearly call out the materials, finishes, dimensions, and relevant notes so the sheet is self-contained and build-ready. 4. 3D renderings only where needed — primarily to communicate unique or complex design concepts that are hard to read in 2D. The overwhelming majority of the deliverables must be 2D; 3D is supplemental, not the main output. Design areas to be documented All primary living and private spaces, including (but not limited to): great room, kitchen, dining, study/office, library, bedrooms and bathrooms, powder rooms, utility/laundry, and other interior areas as identified from the plans. Deliverables • A complete set of 2D interior elevations (all four walls, floor to ceiling) for each room/area. • Supporting 2D plans (finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, lighting layouts) as required. • Material/finish specifications annotated on each sheet. • 3D views for select-concept areas where clarification is helpful. • Final files delivered in scaled PDF, plus editable/native source files (e.g., AutoCAD .dwg, SketchUp, Revit, or your standard format — please specify). Required Skills & Experience • Proven experience producing 2D interior design working drawings for new residential construction. • Strong command of interior elevations, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, and material/finish schedules. • Proficiency in professional drafting/design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or equivalent) and 3D rendering tools for occasional concept views. • Experience coordinating with architects and builders on custom homes. • Eye for clean, modern, timeless interiors with strong attention to detail. What I Will Provide • Finalized (or near-final) architectural plans. • Minimal design direction, references, and my material/finish preferences. • Timely feedback throughout the process. Out of Scope (for now) To keep this engagement focused, I am not seeking: furniture procurement, accessories/styling, window treatments, or drapery/fabric selection. Please Include in Your Proposal • Portfolio samples that specifically show your 2D interior elevation sheets and material-spec sheets (not just renderings) — ideally from new-construction custom homes. • A brief note on your process for producing this kind of drawing set. • Your software/workflow and the native file format you deliver in. • Your pricing structure – Fixed price estimate for the entire home. • Availability and estimated timeline.
