International Trademark Lawyer for Multi-Brand Portfolio + Infringement Action
Worldwide
What we need: We're a group of affiliated companies (medical device manufacturing, wellness/consumer brands, and software) looking to build and protect a multi-brand trademark portfolio. We need an experienced trademark/IP attorney to handle three connected workstreams: 1. Multi-entity trademark registration (multiple jurisdictions) We have several brand names and marks across different legal entities that need to be registered and protected. We'll want guidance on filing strategy — direct national filings vs. the Madrid Protocol — and clearance/knockout searches before we commit. Target jurisdictions include the US and EU, with several additional countries to be scoped. 2. Logo / image / visual mark protection Beyond wordmarks, we have product photography, packaging designs, and logos we want protected (trademark and/or copyright as appropriate). We'd like advice on the right form of protection for each and help filing it. 3. Enforcement against infringers A competitor is using our proprietary product images to market and sell competing devices. We want to assess our options (cease-and-desist, takedown notices, platform complaints, and escalation if needed) and act on them. About us We operate multiple LLCs/entities, each with its own brand identity, spanning the US and Europe. This is an ongoing relationship for the right attorney — we expect continued IP work as the portfolio grows. To apply Please answer the screening questions below and briefly describe a comparable multi-jurisdiction trademark matter you've handled. Attorneys with a network of foreign associates (or Madrid Protocol experience) strongly preferred. Screening Questions : 1) Are you a licensed attorney? In which jurisdiction(s) are you admitted to practice, and do you handle international filings directly or through associate counsel? 2) Have you filed trademarks in multiple countries for a single client before? Briefly describe your approach (national filings vs. Madrid Protocol) and roughly how many jurisdictions. 3) Have you handled infringement enforcement where a competitor was misusing a client's images or marks? What was the outcome? 4) How do you typically structure fees — flat per-mark filing fees, hourly for strategy/enforcement, or a blend? (Please exclude government/registry fees.) 5) Can you advise on protecting product photography and packaging design (copyright vs. trademark/trade dress), not just wordmarks?
