Investigative Storyteller / Documentary Producer to Help Shape Pre-Publication Media Campaign
Worldwide
I’m looking for someone with a journalism, documentary, investigative reporting, or long-form storytelling background. This is NOT a video editing job. This is NOT a social media management job. This is NOT a copywriting job. We already have editors, designers, and content production resources. What I need is someone who can look at a large body of information and identify the strongest story. Background: I am the founder of a consumer product company. Over the past two years, my company has been involved in a situation that resulted in significant financial consequences, years of documentation, recorded calls, timelines, internal communications, and evidence that has now attracted the attention of a major national media outlet. A Bloomberg reporter is currently working on a story related to the situation. As publication approaches, we are preparing a series of founder-led videos and communications that will be released before the article is published. The challenge is not creating content. The challenge is determining: • What parts of the story matter most • What details should be revealed now versus later • What creates curiosity • What creates emotional connection • What makes people care • What should be left out • How to sequence multiple videos so interest builds over time I’m looking for someone who can review information, ask tough questions, challenge assumptions, and help shape the narrative. Ideal Background: • Investigative journalist • Documentary producer • News producer • Narrative strategist • Long-form writer • Feature reporter • Podcast producer • Documentary researcher • Author with strong nonfiction storytelling experience Bonus if you’ve worked on: • Corporate investigations • Consumer advocacy stories • Platform accountability stories • Business investigations • Founder stories • Public interest journalism What Success Looks Like: You help us determine the strongest angles, strongest messages, strongest video concepts, and the best sequence for releasing content before a major media story becomes public. To apply, please send: 1. A short description of your background 2. Relevant work samples 3. Why you think you’d be a good fit for this type of project 4. Your favorite documentary, investigative story, or long-form piece you’ve worked on
