Kitchen Design Concepts

I’m looking for an experienced residential designer or architect to develop concept designs for a major renovation to my kitchen. Project Overview The project involves combining the existing kitchen and an adjacent storeroom into a new kitchen and pantry. The existing laundry will be relocated elsewhere in the house and is not part of this design. The current layout feels disconnected: • The kitchen is separated from the dining area. • The kitchen and storeroom both open onto the outdoor patio, but the connection between the indoor and outdoor entertaining areas could be significantly improved. The objective is to completely rethink the space and produce several innovative layout options that maximise functionality, storage, flow and connection to the outdoor living area. Photos, floor plans and measurements of the existing spaces will be provided. Kick-off Meeting - if felt important by designer. Phase 1 Deliverables Milestone 1 – Initial Concepts Develop three genuinely different concept layouts, not just minor variations. These should explore different approaches to: • Kitchen location and orientation • Pantry/scullery configuration • Connection to the outdoor entertaining area and living room. Milestone 2 – Refined Concepts Based on feedback, develop the best concept further, including: • Refined floor plans • Basic 3D model • Perspective renders/views • Cabinetry concepts • Pantry/scullery layout • Appliance storage ideas • General design recommendations Editable 3D model required (SketchUp or similar preferred). What I’m Looking For • Strong residential kitchen renovation experience • Creative thinking rather than simply drawing what already exists • Excellent space planning skills • Modern, practical design ideas • Good communication throughout the project Future Work This project is Phase 1 only. The successful designer will likely be invited to complete Phase 2, which will include detailed cabinetry drawings and documentation for pricing and construction.
