Landscape Architect – Luxury Hotel Project, Bali

We are seeking an experienced Landscape Architect to design and coordinate the complete landscape package for a luxury cliffside hotel development in Pecatu, Bali. Project Overview * Approximately 55–57 guest rooms * Land area: approximately 1,848 m² * Total constructed area: approximately 4,065 m² * Cliffside location with ocean views * Facilities include an infinity pool, restaurants, rooftop areas, guest terraces, entrance, parking, and outdoor relaxation spaces * Design direction: refined tropical luxury with a strong Balinese identity Scope of Work The Landscape Architect will be responsible for: * Developing the overall landscape concept and design language * Site analysis, including climate, orientation, wind, salt exposure, drainage, soil conditions, and cliffside constraints * Entrance, arrival sequence, drop-off, and parking landscaping * Infinity-pool surroundings, pool deck, sunbeds, shaded seating, and outdoor guest areas * Landscape design for restaurant terraces, rooftop areas, balconies, internal courtyards, pathways, and building edges * Planting design using suitable tropical, coastal, drought-resistant, and low-maintenance species * Preservation of important ocean views and guest-room privacy * Hardscape design, including paving, steps, planters, retaining elements, edging, and outdoor finishes * Outdoor lighting concept coordinated with the electrical engineer * Irrigation-system design and water-demand calculations * Surface-water drainage coordination * Coordination with architecture, structure, MEP, pool, façade, and interior design * Integration of pumps, drainage points, inspection covers, lighting, and irrigation equipment without compromising the appearance * Value engineering to control construction and long-term maintenance costs * Compliance with applicable Bali and Indonesian planning, environmental, safety, and PBG requirements Required Deliverables * Site analysis and landscape concept presentation * Landscape master plan * Planting plans with species, quantities, sizes, and specifications * Hardscape plans and material schedules * Detailed plans, sections, elevations, and construction details * Pool-deck and outdoor-area layouts * Irrigation layouts, zoning, calculations, and equipment schedules * Landscape lighting layouts and fixture recommendations * Drainage and finished-level coordination plans * Outdoor furniture and planter schedules * Bill of quantities and technical specifications * Maintenance guidelines * Editable AutoCAD files, PDF drawings, and presentation files * 3D visualizations of the main landscape areas * Revisions required for coordination, approval, and construction Design Priorities * Luxury appearance appropriate for an upscale hotel * Strong Balinese and tropical character without excessive decoration * Clear ocean views from guest rooms and public areas * Privacy between rooms and outdoor spaces * Plant resistance to coastal wind, salt, humidity, and intense sunlight * Low water consumption and manageable maintenance requirements * Safe, non-slip outdoor materials * Effective drainage during heavy rainfall * Durable materials suitable for hotel operations * Efficient use of the limited site area Required Qualifications * Degree in Landscape Architecture or a related discipline * Minimum five years of relevant professional experience * Proven experience with luxury hotels, resorts, villas, or hospitality developments * Strong knowledge of Bali’s climate, tropical planting, local materials, and construction methods * Experience working on coastal or cliffside sites is preferred * Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant 3D visualization software * Strong technical detailing and multidisciplinary coordination capability * Ability to communicate clearly in English * Knowledge of applicable Indonesian regulations is preferred Application Requirements Please submit: * CV and professional qualifications * Portfolio of relevant hospitality and landscape projects * Examples of planting plans, technical details, and completed work * Proposed design fee and payment schedule * Estimated completion period * Number of revisions included * List of site visits included * Confirmation that editable source files will be provided * Confirmation of availability for coordination meetings and construction-stage clarification The selected Landscape Architect must balance visual impact, guest experience, regulatory compliance, constructability, durability, and long-term operating costs.
