Landscape CAD Drafter

We are a Texas-based native landscaping design and build company focused on creating beautiful, ecologically-driven outdoor spaces using native plants, water-wise design principles, and regenerative landscaping practices. We're looking for a reliable CAD drafter to support our landscape designer by converting site scans, measurements, and field documentation into clean, organized base plans and drafting packages. This is a freelance, project-by-project position with the opportunity for ongoing work. What You'll Do: - Create accurate CAD base plans from site measurements, LiDAR scans, drone imagery, and field documentation - Draft existing conditions plans - Draft hardscape layouts, planting plans, irrigation layouts, and construction details as directed - Clean up line work and organize drawing sets - Assist with revisions during the design process - Maintain layer organization, drawing standards, and file structure - Coordinate with our landscape designer to ensure plans are production-ready What We Provide: - LiDAR scans with measurements to scale - Photos and field notes - Design direction and markups - Drawing standards and examples Requirements: - Proficiency in AutoCAD - Experience producing landscape, civil, architectural, or site plans - Ability to interpret scans, measurements, and site documentation accurately - Strong attention to detail and organization - Ability to meet deadlines and communicate clearly Preferred Qualifications: - Landscape architecture, landscape design, civil drafting, or related experience - Experience drafting planting plans and irrigation plans - Familiarity with grading, drainage, and landscape construction details - Experience working from LiDAR or photogrammetry scans Other things to note: These are primarily single residences. Final deliverables must be provided as editable .DWG files. All drawings should be professionally organized and production-ready, including: -Clean, organized layer structure -Consistent layer naming conventions -Proper use of lineweights and object organization -Minimal cleanup required before design work begins -Accurate scaling and dimensional accuracy based on provided site data Curve Requirements: Our office drafting standards require -True arcs and radii wherever applicable -No splines -Curves should be constructed using arcs, fillets, and polylines that can be easily edited and dimensioned -Drawings should be suitable for construction documentation and layout We are looking for drafters who understand how to create clean, buildable drawings rather than simply tracing site imagery. Attention to drafting quality and organization is extremely important to us.
