Lawyer for Ethics Committee

**Lawyer Member for Human Research Ethics Committee** We are seeking a qualified lawyer to join our Human Research Ethics Committee as an independent committee member. The role is to contribute a legal and ethical perspective to the review of human research proposals, particularly in relation to participant rights, informed consent, privacy, confidentiality, risk, and compliance with applicable ethical and regulatory frameworks. This is a committee membership role and does not involve acting as legal counsel for the organisation or providing formal legal advice. The lawyer member will participate in committee discussions and help ensure that research proposals are reviewed with appropriate consideration of legal, ethical, and participant protection issues. **Key responsibilities** * Review human research ethics applications and supporting documents. * Provide input on legal and ethical considerations relevant to participant protection. * Contribute to committee discussions and decision-making. * Assist the committee in assessing matters such as consent, privacy, confidentiality, risk, and compliance. * Support the development and review of ethics-related policies and procedures where relevant. **Ideal candidate** * Qualified lawyer with current or prior legal practice experience. * Familiarity with health, research, privacy, corporate, or civil law would be highly regarded. * Interest in human research ethics, clinical research, or healthcare innovation. * Strong attention to detail and ability to assess documents objectively. * Comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary ethics committee.
