Lead Developer Fullstack – Freelance – Remote (France)

MentorShow is a premium online learning platform specializing in video masterclasses and coaching programs focused on personal development. A fast-growing startup active across French, Spanish, and English-speaking markets. We're looking for a freelance Lead Developer to take ownership of our technical stack, support our dev team, and drive projects forward with autonomy and rigor. What you'll do - Code: this is a hands-on role. You'll be expected to contribute directly to the codebase, not just review and advise - Analyze incoming requests and new topics: feasibility, impact, trade-offs, scoping - Design the technical architecture for new features - Support and unblock developers on a daily basis - Review pull requests - Monitor the system and handle alerts and incidents Tech stack - Frontend: TypeScript, React Native, Expo, Next.js, Tanstack Query, Zustand, Unistyles - Backend: AdonisJS v7 (REST API, GraphQL legacy) - Database: PostgreSQL, Redis - Auth / Payments: Firebase, Stripe - Monitoring: Sentry, PostHog - CI/CD & Infra: GitHub Actions, Docker, AWS, Terraform, Qovery, Vercel Who we're looking for Someone who can investigate and solve complex problems, equally comfortable with maintenance work and new development, with a solid balance between quality and speed. Curiosity, critical thinking, ownership, and the ability to get things moving are the qualities that will make the difference. French fluency is required. The team operates in French on a daily basis, and you'll need to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in French.
