Lead Hardware Engineer – Portable Smart Vending Cooler (Mechanical + Embedded Systems)

We are developing a next-generation portable smart vending cooler for sporting events, tournaments, festivals, and outdoor venues. The system combines: * Refrigerated cooler hardware * Battery-powered operation * Embedded electronics * Cashless payment integration * Weight-based inventory sensing * IoT connectivity * Industrial product design We are seeking an experienced engineer to lead hardware and prototype development from concept through working prototype and manufacturing readiness. Responsibilities * Lead overall hardware architecture and prototype development * Design mechanical systems, enclosure layouts, and internal component placement * Develop embedded electronics architecture * Select sensors, controllers, power systems, and communication modules * Coordinate PCB design and firmware development * Integrate refrigeration, battery, and electronic subsystems * Create CAD models and engineering drawings * Support prototype assembly and testing * Recommend manufacturers and suppliers * Prepare documentation for production and scaling Desired Skills Mechanical Engineering * CAD (SolidWorks preferred) * Product enclosure design * Sheet metal and plastics design * Thermal management * Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Embedded Systems * ESP32, STM32, Raspberry Pi, or similar * Sensor integration * Power management * PCB development * Wireless communications (WiFi/Bluetooth/LTE) Bonus Experience * Smart vending systems * IoT products * Payment terminals * Refrigeration systems * Battery-powered products * Consumer electronics
