Lead Research & Lead Generation VA — Ecommerce/B2B
Worldwide
I run a boutique bookkeeping business in Australia specialising in ecommerce and product-based businesses, and I’m looking for a capable VA to help me research and identify high-quality potential referral partners and business leads. This is not a high-volume cold outreach or appointment-setting role. I’m looking for someone who is excellent at online research, can think critically about whether a lead is genuinely relevant, and can build small, highly targeted lists rather than simply collecting hundreds of names. What you’ll be doing Researching potential referral partners and leads using Google, LinkedIn, Apollo and other relevant tools Finding people such as: Fractional CFOs working with ecommerce/product businesses Ecommerce-focused accountants and advisors 3PLs and fulfilment companies Shopify/ecommerce consultants and agencies Inventory/Cin7 consultants Other professionals working with established ecommerce brands Identifying the appropriate decision-maker/contact person Finding verified email addresses and LinkedIn profiles Reviewing company websites to understand what they offer Checking whether they would genuinely complement my services rather than compete with them Adding qualified leads to a clean Google Sheet/CRM Writing a short note explaining why each lead could be a strong referral or partnership opportunity What I’m looking for You should be: Very strong at internet and LinkedIn research Experienced with B2B lead generation Willing to research further than a chat gpt/claude prompt Familiar with tools such as Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Clay or similar (not essential but desirable) Able to distinguish between a genuinely good lead and someone who simply matches a keyword Detail-oriented and able to follow specific criteria A strong English communicator Comfortable working independently Experience researching ecommerce, accounting, finance, SaaS or professional-services businesses would be a big advantage. Important I value quality over quantity. I would much rather receive 10 highly relevant leads with thoughtful research than 100 generic contacts. For each lead, I would ideally like: Name | Company | Role | Website | Email | LinkedIn | Business type | Why they are a good fit | Any potential conflict/competitor | Recommended to contact: Yes/No Initially, I’m looking for approximately 3–5 hours per week, with the potential for ongoing work if we work well together. When applying, please tell me: What tools you normally use for B2B lead research. Whether you have experience researching ecommerce or professional-services businesses. How you verify that a lead is genuinely relevant rather than simply matching search criteria. Your hourly rate. Please also start your application with the word CORA so I know you’ve read the full job description. Thanks and excited to work with you!
