Have experience in legal administrative and operations support? My name is Ryan Knutson and I am a civil rights attorney and founder of Knutson Law Offices (KLO Law Firm) (klolawfirm.com). I have a law firm focused on civil rights, landlord-tenant, and probate litigation. We are looking for someone who is dedicated, hardworking, passionate about the legal field, has a sense of humor, and ready to take on new challenges. I speak Spanish fluently, and a lot of my clients are Spanish-speaking. Spanish-language fluency is a plus for a new hire but not required. A second language in general is a plus, especially Spanish and Mandarin. This position is fully remote, but I prefer someone who lives in or around the Los Angeles County, CA area for ease of meeting and collaboration. I began my practice and legal career in the San Francisco Bay Area. The firm’s main office is located in Oakland, California, but we have cases statewide. I will interview all candidates in-person in Los Angeles County, CA. Please send a resume if interested in the position. The firm focuses in the following areas: Landlord-Tenant (Wrongful eviction, habitability, evictions and eviction defense) and Real Estate Litigation Elder Abuse and Conservatorship Law Trusts and Estate Planning (General and Special Needs Planning) Real Estate Litigation and Commercial Eviction Defense Wrongful Eviction and Real Estate Easement, Nuisance, and Boundary Dispute Litigation Civil Rights Litigation (Police Shootings, Jail Conditions, Mental Health Treatment Abuse and Deprivation, Disability, Racial, Religious, and Gender Discrimination, Sexual Harassment in Employment and Education) Mental Health Law Operations Professional Job Duties and Responsibilities - - Return client phone calls to schedule consultations and meetings - Respond to emails to schedule consultations and meetings - Conduct information and fact-gathering interviews with clients and potential clients - Draft and send intake forms to potential clients and existing clients - Conduct case phone or video conference intake and consultation screening with potential clients - Organize and schedule client consultations for new clients with attorney, and schedule client meetings in firm and attorney calendars - Finalize and send legal services agreements to clients - Finalize and send bills and monthly accounting to clients - Manage intake form receipt and evaluation - Manage client and potential client document and data transfer for attorney review - Integrate client data and contact information into practice panther case management software - Calendar litigation hearing dates, deadlines, and case response deadlines - Draft written discovery and subpoenas to parties - Respond to written discovery and subpoenas - Compile and review documents and information for production in ongoing litigation matters - Respond to client emails requesting information or documents - Draft and send case opening letters - Draft and send case correspondence - Draft and send case closing letters - File court documents and maintain adequate records of all filings - Conduct case person and data research (online private investigator research) - Conduct case initial investigations
