The ideal candidate must have extensive experience preparing and filing immigration applications and court filings, drafting legal documents, organizing evidence, communicating with clients, and managing complex removal defense cases from intake through completion. Experience with the preparation of immigration applications and petitions before EOIR and USCIS is required, including but not limited to: * Removal/Deportation Defense * Asylum Applications (Form I-589) * Cancellation of Removal * Adjustment of Status * Family-Based Petitions * U Visas * VAWA * Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS) * DACA * Naturalization * Consular Processing * Employment Authorization Applications * FOIA Requests * Bond Packets * Motions * Hearing Exhibits and Trial Preparation * Attorney Declarations and Client Affidavits The Removal Defense Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to prepare legal filings, maintain case deadlines, organize evidence, communicate with clients, prepare hearing packets, and ensure every case is handled with accuracy, professionalism, and compassion. Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to: * Manage a high-volume caseload efficiently. * Prioritize multiple time-sensitive matters while meeting strict deadlines. * Prepare complete and accurate immigration filings with minimal supervision. * Maintain exceptional attention to detail. * Provide outstanding client service to the families we represent. * Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and government agencies. * Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced legal environment. * Be highly organized and proactive. * Demonstrate strong initiative and problem-solving skills. * Maintain a positive attitude and professional demeanor. * Work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys and legal staff. * Handle sensitive and confidential client information with discretion. * Be willing to occasionally work evenings or Saturdays when required by urgent case deadlines. Qualifications * Minimum of 3 years of immigration paralegal experience, with a strong emphasis on removal defense. * Extensive knowledge of EOIR procedures and immigration court filings. * Experience preparing asylum applications, cancellation of removal applications, motions, bond packets, and supporting evidence. * Experience managing cases from intake through final disposition. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organizational and time management abilities. * Ability to work under pressure while maintaining exceptional quality. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Google Workspace, and immigration case management software such as Docketwise, LawLogix, or similar platforms. * Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred, but we will consider candidates with significant experience serving marginalized Spanish-speaking and Indigenous communities.
