Legal Assistant/ Discovery Specialist

We are a growing personal injury law firm seeking an experienced Discovery Specialist / Litigation Paralegal to assist with discovery in active plaintiff-side personal injury cases in California. We are specifically looking for someone who is highly experienced in personal injury litigation and discovery and can work independently with minimal training. This is not an entry-level position. Responsibilities --Draft and prepare Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, Requests for Production, etc. -Draft and prepare responses to Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, Requests for Admission, Requests for Production, etc. -Review incoming discovery from defense counsel -Draft meet and confer letters and responses -Identify missing information and documents needed from clients -Communicate clearly with our team regarding outstanding discovery items -Maintain discovery calendar and deadlines -Organize supporting documents, medical records, bills, photographs, wage-loss documentation, and other evidence -Prepare discovery verifications for client signature -Assist with discovery objections and supplemental responses -Review discovery for completeness, consistency, and accuracy before attorney review -Maintain organized case files and discovery records We are looking for someone who: -Has significant experience handling discovery for a personal injury law firm -Has experience working on the plaintiff side -Understands personal injury claims, medical treatment, damages, causation, and common defense discovery tactics -Is extremely detail-oriented -Can identify inconsistencies or missing information before discovery is submitted -Understands discovery deadlines and litigation procedures in California -Can manage multiple cases and deadlines at once -Produces polished work that requires minimal attorney correction -Communicates professionally and reliably -Protects confidential client information When applying, please include: -How many years of personal injury discovery experience you have -Whether your experience is plaintiff-side, defense-side, or both -Whether you have handled California discovery -The types of discovery you regularly prepare -Approximately how many discovery matters you can handle per week -Your general availability We are interested in finding someone we can work with consistently and long-term as our caseload continues to grow.
