Legal Researcher Needed for Case Law & Regulatory Research

We are looking for a detail-oriented legal researcher to support an ongoing need for accurate, well-organized legal research. This role involves researching case law, statutes, regulations, and legal precedents, and presenting findings in a clear, structured format that can be easily used for decision-making or further legal work. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough legal research using reputable databases and primary sources (case law, statutes, regulations, secondary sources) Summarize findings in clear, well-organized memos or reports Identify relevant precedents, statutes, and regulatory guidance applicable to specific research questions Properly cite all sources using standard legal citation formats (e.g., Bluebook) Flag any conflicting authority, ambiguity, or areas requiring further clarification Meet agreed deadlines and communicate proactively on research progress Requirements: Strong background in legal research methodology (J.D., paralegal certification, or equivalent experience) Familiarity with legal research tools (Westlaw, LexisNexis, Google Scholar, PACER, or similar) Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail Ability to distill complex legal issues into clear, actionable summaries Prior experience with U.S. law preferred (please specify jurisdiction experience in your proposal) Reliable internet access and ability to meet deadlines How to Apply: Please include in your proposal: A brief summary of your legal research background and relevant experience Examples of past legal research work (redacted/anonymized if confidential) Your familiarity with legal research databases Your proposed rate and availability
