Legal SEO Content Strategist — Topic Map, Search Intent, and Preliminary Google Ads Roadmap About the Firm Stepter Law is a solo Ohio plaintiff-side employment-law firm representing employees in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblower claims, disability accommodation, medical leave, wrongful termination, severance agreements, and wage-and-hour issues. The Firm is beginning a focused SEO content campaign and is seeking an experienced legal SEO consultant for a limited, one-time strategy project. Project Scope The initial project will be capped at six hours. It is intended to produce a practical content roadmap before substantial blog drafting and publishing begins. This is not a request for: A full technical SEO audit; Ongoing SEO management; Backlink development; Full Google Ads campaign setup; Monthly reporting; or Routine WordPress publishing. The consultant should focus on identifying the highest-value organic content and landing-page opportunities for a solo Ohio employment-law firm. Project Objectives The consultant will be asked to: Review the Firm’s principal practice-area pages and existing blog content; Review available Google Search Console data, if useful; Identify two or three priority employment-law topic clusters; Develop a lightweight topic map organized around those clusters; Recommend approximately 20 to 30 potential content topics; Prioritize the first 8 to 12 pages or articles that should be developed; Identify the primary search intent associated with each recommended topic; Distinguish between topics that should be addressed through a practice-area page, blog article, FAQ, or dedicated landing page; Identify obvious overlap or keyword-cannibalization concerns; Recommend basic internal-linking relationships between supporting articles and principal practice-area pages; and Deliver the recommendations in a clear spreadsheet or comparable working document. The strategy should not be limited to informational blog traffic. It should identify organic content and landing-page opportunities designed to attract Ohio employees whose fact-specific searches indicate that they may be ready to consult an employment attorney. Preliminary Google Ads Component As part of the same project, the consultant should identify a limited set of high-intent, longer-tail search themes that may be appropriate for a future modest-budget Google Search Ads campaign. The consultant should: Identify approximately 10 to 20 high-intent paid-search themes or terms; Group those terms by legal issue, claim type, or prospective-client problem; Recommend which existing or proposed landing page should correspond to each group; Identify obvious irrelevant searches or negative-keyword categories that should be excluded; Recommend one or two practice areas that appear best suited for an initial paid-search test; and Note any important differences between the recommended organic content strategy and paid-search landing-page strategy. This portion of the assignment is intended to provide a preliminary paid-search roadmap only. It does not include full Google Ads account creation, campaign launch, ongoing bid management, detailed ad-copy development, or continuing optimization. Preferred Qualifications The ideal consultant will have: Experience with law-firm SEO, preferably for plaintiff-side, employment-law, or other professional-service firms; A strong understanding of search intent and prospective-client conversion; Experience distinguishing informational searches from searches indicating an immediate or developing need for legal counsel; Experience developing topic clusters, content maps, or pillar-and-supporting-page strategies; Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, or comparable tools; Experience reviewing actual Google search results rather than relying exclusively on automated keyword reports; Familiarity with Google Search Ads and long-tail paid-search strategy; An understanding of landing-page alignment, negative keywords, geographic targeting, and conversion-focused search terms; and The ability to provide practical recommendations appropriate for a solo law firm with a modest initial budget. What to Include in Your Proposal Please briefly address the following: What specific deliverables would you produce within the six-hour limit? How would you distinguish topics likely to attract prospective clients from topics likely to generate mostly general informational traffic? How would you determine whether a subject should be a practice-area page, blog article, FAQ, or paid-search landing page, and how would you identify overlap between existing and proposed pages? Would you manually review actual Google search results for the highest-priority topics, or would the recommendations primarily come from SEO software or AI tools? Please also include: Your experience working with attorneys, law firms, or comparable professional-service firms; Your hourly rate; Your total not-to-exceed fee for the six-hour project; Whether you have a minimum project fee or minimum number of hours; The SEO and paid-search research tools you use; A sample, redacted example, or description of the spreadsheet or topic-map format you would provide; and Confirmation that you are willing to work on a limited, per-project basis without requiring an ongoing monthly engagement. Anticipated Deliverable The final deliverable should be a concise, usable roadmap that allows the Firm to begin drafting and publishing content in a logical order and to later test a modest Google Search Ads campaign directed toward high-intent, fact-specific employment-law searches.
