Level 3 Infrastructure Engineer (Azure, Networking & Hybrid Systems)

We are seeking a highly experienced Level 3 Infrastructure Engineer with strong expertise in cloud (Azure), on-prem environments, and enterprise networking. This role is for a senior professional capable of independently leading and executing complex infrastructure projects end-to-end. The ideal candidate has experience working in hybrid environments, holds relevant Azure certifications, and has hands-on expertise in networking, security, and infrastructure modernization. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Engineering (Cloud & On-Prem): Design, implement, and support hybrid infrastructure environments (Azure + on-prem) Lead server migrations, consolidations, and upgrades Perform virtualization using VMware or Hyper-V Manage Windows Server environments (patching, performance, lifecycle) Cloud (Azure) & Migrations: Architect and execute cloud migrations (lift-and-shift, hybrid, modernization) Use Azure tools such as Azure Migrate and Azure Site Recovery Deploy and manage Azure resources (VMs, VNets, storage, identity) Integrate on-prem systems with Azure (identity, networking, DR) Networking & Security: Configure and maintain networking components (routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, DHCP) Design and troubleshoot VPN solutions (site-to-site, client VPN) Manage firewalls (cloud and physical) Implement network segmentation and security best practices Identity & Security Projects: Implement identity/security solutions (e.g., MFA, authentication platforms) Support Active Directory and identity integrations Apply secure access control strategies Project Execution: Lead projects such as: Cloud migrations Firewall/VPN deployments Server refresh & virtualization Security implementations Translate business requirements into technical solutions Provide documentation and diagrams L3 Support & Escalation: Act as Tier 3 escalation point for complex issues Perform root cause analysis and permanent fixes Mentor junior engineers when needed Required Qualifications Azure certification (Administrator, Architect, or equivalent) 5–8+ years of infrastructure engineering experience Strong skills in: Windows Server Networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching) Active Directory / identity systems Experience with: VPN configuration and troubleshooting Firewalls and network security Server migrations and virtualization Preferred Qualifications Scripting/automation (PowerShell, Terraform, etc.) Managed services (MSP) experience Knowledge of security/compliance frameworks Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and high availability Key Competencies Ability to work independently and own projects end-to-end Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills Excellent communication and documentation Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
