Summary

We are seeking a licensed structural engineer in New Jersey to size a beam for residential project. The ideal candidate will have experience in NJ residential construction. The project involves a one story single-family home with a basement and attic ...removing a bearing wall between the kitchen and living room. the new beam will be holding up the existing 2x6 ceiling, nothing more, the existing beam in the basement is a triple 2x10; need to determine weather or not the new beam and post can bear on the existing triple 2x10 or if it must bear directly on the existing column. BEAM SIZING ONLY, No Drafting required ... see attached floor plans
