Licensed Electrical Engineer (PE) – Ongoing Freelance/Subconsultant Opportunity Location: Remote (Florida License preferred) About the Opportunity I am a Florida Licensed Professional Engineer with an expanding MEP consulting practice seeking an experienced Florida Licensed Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) to assist with ongoing commercial and industrial design projects on a freelance/subconsultant basis. This is not a one-time project. I am looking to establish a long-term relationship with a dependable engineer who can provide design support as project volume continues to grow. Typical Projects * Commercial tenant improvements * Office renovations * Restaurants and food service facilities * Prefabricated/modular buildings * Warehouse and industrial improvements * Ground-up commercial construction * Electrical service upgrades * Permit revisions and plan review responses Responsibilities * Prepare electrical construction drawings * Develop one-line diagrams * Perform electrical load calculations * Create panel schedules * Size feeders and overcurrent protection * Grounding and bonding details * Short-circuit/fault current calculations * Coordinate with mechanical and plumbing disciplines * Respond to building department review comments * Sign and seal drawings when required Qualifications * Active Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering * Strong working knowledge of the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC) and Florida Building Code * Experience preparing permit-ready commercial electrical plans * Proficiency with AutoCAD (Revit experience is a plus) * Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines * Excellent communication and attention to detail Preferred Experience * Commercial MEP consulting * Service and distribution design * Tenant improvement projects * Coordination with architects and contractors * Fast turnaround on permitting revisions Compensation Compensation is competitive and will be based on experience and project scope.
