Linux Administrator

Linux Server Administration Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Linux servers. Perform server provisioning, patch management, operating system upgrades, and performance tuning. Monitor server health, resource utilization, and uptime. Configure and administer Apache and/or Nginx web servers. Manage backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures. Automate routine administrative tasks using Bash scripting or other automation tools. Troubleshoot hardware, operating system, networking, and application issues. Moodle LMS Administration Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). Monitor Moodle performance and optimize application responsiveness. Install and maintain Moodle plugins, themes, scheduled tasks, and integrations. Troubleshoot application issues and coordinate testing before production deployments. Ensure maximum uptime and availability of the LMS environment. Support integrations with authentication services, databases, and third-party applications. AWS Infrastructure & Database Administration Design, configure, and administer Amazon Aurora Serverless database clusters. Configure and manage Amazon RDS Proxy to efficiently manage database connections and scale. Deploy, configure, secure, and maintain Linux servers hosted on Amazon EC2. Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries and database resources. Configure automated backups, snapshots, replication, and disaster recovery. Perform database upgrades and maintenance with minimal downtime. Implement database security using IAM, encryption, Secrets Manager, Security Groups, and least-privilege access. Monitor AWS infrastructure using CloudWatch and Performance Insights. Troubleshoot database connectivity, latency, and application integration issues. Linux Security Implement Linux server hardening in line with industry security best practices. Configure SSH security, firewalls, Fail2Ban, access controls, and file permissions. Monitor system logs and investigate suspicious activities. Perform vulnerability assessments and remediation. Maintain security patches and software updates. Assist with incident response and forensic investigations. Ensure systems comply with organizational security policies and standards. Cloudflare Administration Configure and administer Cloudflare DNS, CDN, SSL/TLS, caching, and security services. Manage Cloudflare Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules. Configure DDoS protection, bot mitigation, rate limiting, and Zero Trust access. Monitor Cloudflare analytics and security events. Troubleshoot website connectivity and performance issues. WordPress Administration Install, maintain, secure, and optimize WordPress websites. Manage themes, plugins, updates, and website backups. Optimize website performance and security. Troubleshoot WordPress issues and implement best practices. Coordinate website maintenance and deployments. Documentation & Communication Fluent verbal and written English communication skills are required. Develop and maintain technical documentation, system architecture diagrams, and operational procedures. Create installation guides, troubleshooting documentation, and disaster recovery procedures. Document infrastructure changes and maintain configuration records. Produce clear technical reports for management and project stakeholders. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent level of professional experience. Minimum five (5) years of Linux server administration experience. Strong experience administering enterprise Linux environments. Extensive experience administering Moodle LMS. Strong Linux security and server hardening experience. Experience managing Amazon Aurora Serverless databases. Experience configuring and administering Amazon RDS Proxy. Strong experience with MySQL database administration. Experience with AWS networking, IAM, Security Groups, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch. Strong Cloudflare administration experience. Strong WordPress administration experience. Experience with Nginx and/or Apache. Experience managing SSL certificates and DNS. Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
