Linux/DevOps Engineer (Night Shift, On-Call) — Git, Jenkins, CI/CD — Long-Term

We're looking for an experienced Linux/DevOps engineer to support a client's production infrastructure on an ongoing, on-call basis during a fixed night-shift window (7:30 PM – 3:00 AM IST). This isn't a 24/7 monitoring role — it's for someone reliably available during those hours to jump in when the client needs hands-on help: deployments, pipeline issues, server troubleshooting, or routine maintenance. Hours will vary week to week depending on client need, but availability during the shift window is required. What you'll be doing: Managing and troubleshooting Linux servers (Ubuntu/Debian/CentOS) Maintaining and debugging Jenkins pipelines (build/test/deploy) Git workflow support — branching, merge conflicts, CI triggers, hooks Responding to deployment issues and production incidents during shift hours Basic infrastructure upkeep: monitoring, log review, service restarts, patching Clear, async-friendly communication with our team and the client Must-haves: 3–5 years hands-on experience with Linux administration Strong Git workflow experience (not just basic commands) Jenkins pipeline experience (Groovy/Jenkinsfile a plus) Comfortable working independently and being reachable during 7:30 PM–3:00 AM IST Good written English for incident updates and handoffs Nice-to-haves: Docker/containers Basic AWS/GCP/Azure exposure Ansible or similar config management Prior on-call/SRE-style experience Why this role: Stable, ongoing work — not a one-off project Direct hourly pay, paid weekly via Upwork Work with a US-based SaaS client through our agency — we handle client communication and scope, you focus on the technical work Clear escalation path — you're never figuring out client expectations alone To apply, please include: A short note on your Linux + Jenkins + Git experience Confirmation you can reliably work 7:30 PM–3:00 AM IST Your available start date We review proposals regularly and respond within 48 hours.
