Literary Translator Needed (Polish → English) for Nonfiction Book on Feminism

We're an independent nonprofit publisher, and we are seeking an experienced literary translator to translate a full-length nonfiction book from Polish into English. The book explores the intersection of feminism and veganism, and we are looking for a translator who can not only produce an accurate and engaging English translation, but also preserve the author's voice and navigate the subject matter with cultural and conceptual fluency. Ideal qualifications include: •Native or near-native proficiency in both Polish and English. •Demonstrated experience translating books or long-form nonfiction. •Experience with literary translation. •Familiarity with feminist theory, veganism, and/or ecofeminism (strongly preferred). •Ability to translate nuanced academic, philosophical, and advocacy-oriented writing while maintaining readability in English. This project is for the English translation of a nonfiction book originally published in Polish. We are looking for someone who can serve as a thoughtful collaborator and help produce a translation that reads naturally for an English-language audience while remaining faithful to the author's intent. Finalists may be asked to complete a short paid sample translation before a final selection is made.
