Logo design for MMORPG/RPG

We are seeking an experienced logo designer to create a polished primary logo and emblem system for Samsara Saga, an independent anime-fantasy MMORPG. The logo will be used across: Steam store materials and capsule artwork Website and social media Trailers and video content Press and publisher presentations Crowdfunding materials In-game title and login screens Merchandise and printed materials This is not a general corporate logo project. We are specifically looking for someone with experience in game title design, custom typography, fantasy branding, or JRPG/anime-inspired visual identities. About the game Samsara Saga is an anime-fantasy MMORPG influenced by classic JRPGs and Korean MMORPGs. Its world is built around cycles of destruction and rebirth. Samsara has passed through six major eras, with each cycle shaping its civilizations, heroes, technology, and conflicts. Major themes include: Cycles and rebirth Personal potential and ascension Adventure and discovery Ancient civilizations Magical technology Heroism, ambition, and consequence A world approaching the end of its final cycle The complete background and lore document will be provided as supporting material. The designer does not need to illustrate the lore literally. We want the final mark to communicate the game’s identity clearly and efficiently. Desired visual direction We want a logo that feels: Like a polished anime-fantasy JRPG or MMORPG title Elegant and adventurous Slightly mysterious Warm and inviting without becoming childish Distinctive without becoming overly ornamental Readable at both large and small sizes Suitable for a commercial Steam release The preferred direction is JRPG-first with restrained whimsy. The logo may have flowing or playful details, but it should not resemble a children’s game, mascot logo, fighting-game logo, or generic medieval-fantasy title. Preferred colors Our preferred palette is: Deep blue or navy as the primary color Orange, amber, or warm gold as an accent Black or near-black Optional off-white for contrast Orange and gold should generally be used as accents rather than dominating the entire logo. We prefer a controlled palette over a highly saturated or multicolored treatment. Symbol and emblem direction We are interested in an original circular or cyclical emblem representing: The recurring cycles of Samsara The six eras of the world Rebirth and continuation Ascension and unrealized potential Celestial or magical machinery Possible interpretations include a six-part ring, broken halo, orbit, spiral, portal, or abstract magitek mechanism. We do not want a recognizable religious symbol. The emblem should not directly reproduce a Buddhist Dharma wheel, mandala, lotus, sacred knot, or other existing religious iconography. The objective is to create a fictional symbol belonging specifically to the world of Samsara Saga. Typography direction “SAMSARA” should remain the dominant title. “SAGA” may be secondary, but it must remain clearly readable when the logo is reduced. We are open to: Custom lettering A heavily customized typeface A modern fantasy serif Elegant, slightly italic letterforms Subtle integration between the lettering and emblem We want to avoid: Generic medieval or Renaissance-fair fonts Extremely thin luxury-editorial typography Heavy-metal lettering Cartoon or mascot typography Basic text with effects applied Excessive gradients, bevels, glow, or “WordArt” styling The typography and emblem should feel like one unified identity rather than an icon placed behind unrelated text. Existing concepts We will provide two previous logo directions: An ornate blue circular design. An angular orange fantasy wordmark. These are exploratory references rather than designs to trace or lightly modify. From the blue concept, we like: The connection to world cycles The blue palette The circular structure The sense of mythology However, it is too detailed, competes with the title, and carries stronger religious associations than intended. From the orange concept, we like: The warmth The energy The strong silhouette The custom-lettered appearance However, it feels too aggressive and does not fully represent the game’s elegant or mysterious qualities. We want a new direction that resolves these issues rather than simply combining the two existing images.
