Long-Form True Crime YouTube Video Editor (Weekly, 24hr Turnaround)
Worldwide

The role: Edit one 40–50 minute true crime video per week from raw footage + voiceover Turnaround time is 24 hours from when assets are delivered Add text overlays, maps, photos, court documents, news clips, and other visual elements to keep viewers engaged throughout Match the pacing, tone, and visual storytelling style of top true crime YouTube channels (see references below) Light sound design: background music, tension cues, transitions Color correction and audio balancing as needed Deliver in YouTube-ready format (1080p or 4K) Style references — study these closely: Rotten Mango (Stephanie Soo): https://www.youtube.com/@rottenmangopod — Notice how visuals (maps, photos, timelines) are layered over narration to keep the viewer locked in. Clean, modern feel with well-timed text and subtle motion graphics. Eleanor Neale (OUTLORE): https://www.youtube.com/@EleanorNeale — Long-form deep dives with a polished but not overproduced look. Good use of source imagery and smooth transitions. JCS – Criminal Psychology: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYwVxWpjeKFWwu8TML-Te9A — The gold standard for interrogation/psychology-driven true crime. Minimal but effective editing — text callouts, split screens, clean cuts that let the story breathe. What I'll provide each week: Raw footage / voiceover audio Script or outline with timestamps Source images, documents, and reference links Style notes or specific direction for the episode You should have: A portfolio or samples showing true crime or documentary-style editing Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro Ability to source and incorporate B-roll, images, maps, and news footage Strong sense of pacing for long-form content (no viewer drop-off!)
