We are looking for one reliable Book Layout Designer / Editorial Graphic Designer for a long-term remote collaboration in the book publishing field. This is not a one-time project. We are looking for an individual designer who wants to work with us consistently and build a stable long-term collaboration. The main focus of this role is professional book formatting and editorial layout design, especially for non-fiction books, guides, workbooks, manuals, planners and educational content. We are not looking for simple Word formatting or basic template work. We need someone who understands clean editorial design, page structure, typography, spacing, margins, print-ready files and professional visual organization. This role is intended for someone who wants to grow over time. We are looking for a person who is open to learning new skills, improving their design abilities and expanding into other book publishing and business-related tasks in the future. As the collaboration develops, there may be opportunities to grow inside the company, take on more responsibility, improve existing workflows, support future projects and collaborate with other team members. Growth will depend on reliability, quality of work, communication, ability to learn, problem-solving and the value brought to the company. The starting hourly range is $3.00–$3.50/hour. The first period may start with a controlled workload to evaluate fit, quality, communication and reliability. If the collaboration works well and clear goals are reached, the goal is to move toward a stable long-term workload, with the possibility of economic growth over time based on performance, skills and contribution. Main responsibilities: - Professional book interior formatting and layout design - Editorial page design for non-fiction books, guides, manuals, workbooks and planners - Creation of clean tables, boxes, callouts, checklists and structured visual elements - Creation or adaptation of visual assets such as icons, diagrams, simple illustrations, infographics and image-based elements - Use of AI tools, when appropriate, to support the creation of book visuals, references, illustrations or graphic elements - Research of suitable images, visual references and styles based on the project target and requirements - Preparation of print-ready PDF files - Correct use of trim size, margins, bleed and safe areas - Layout adjustments for paperback and digital formats - Revisions based on detailed written feedback - File organization and respect for deadlines - Support with other book-related graphic tasks when needed, such as cover layout, Amazon A+ Content, book mockups and social media ad creatives - Openness to learning new graphic, editorial and publishing-related skills over time - Collaboration with other team members or collaborators when needed to improve project quality and company workflows Required skills: - Strong eye for editorial layout and clean page design - Experience with book formatting, publishing design or print layout - Good knowledge of Adobe InDesign or other professional layout software - Understanding of typography, spacing, hierarchy and visual consistency - Ability to create or adapt visual elements that fit the style and target audience of a project - Ability to research visual references and images with attention to quality, consistency and usage rights - Ability to use AI tools thoughtfully for visual creation, concept development or image support - Ability to prepare print-ready PDF files - Good written English - Ability to follow detailed written instructions - Reliable internet connection and own computer - Long-term mindset and professional attitude - Willingness to learn, improve and take on new responsibilities over time Preferred skills: - Amazon KDP formatting experience - Adobe Photoshop - Adobe Illustrator - Canva - AI image generation tools - Experience with book covers, Amazon A+ Content, mockups or advertising creatives - Experience with non-fiction books, workbooks, planners, guides or educational materials - Ability to create icons, diagrams, infographics, visual aids and simple custom illustrations - Interest in learning more about publishing workflows, project organization and business operations Important: - Individual applicants only.
