Long-Term Video Editor – Premium Documentary & Visual Journalism (Vox / Johnny Harris Aesthetic)
Worldwide
We are launching a premium, faceless historical and theological documentary channel called 'The Word Documented'. Our mission is to produce deeply researched, evidence-based video essays (8–10 minutes long) exploring biblical history, archaeology, and ancient manuscript tracking. We are NOT looking for standard "YouTube Automation" edits, heavy AI-generated images, or basic CapCut templates. We want to treat ancient history with elite, secular-grade visual journalism. Think Vox, Johnny Harris, or MagnatesMedia, applied to historical theology. The Style We Are Looking For: Our visual identity relies heavily on pacing, data-driven graphics, and authentic historical assets. Your editing must feature: - Visual Journalism Aesthetics: Dynamic 3D map animations, multi-layered timelines, split-screens, and active text-tracking (e.g., digital highlighter tracing over ancient manuscript scans). - Tactile Textures: Use of organic paper textures, vellum overlays, subtle film grain, and minimalist geometric grid lines. - Immersive Sound Design: The video must have a rich audio canvas—low synth drones or minimalist rhythmic ticking paired with crisp foley (paper rustles, typewriter clicks, deep whooshes, camera shutters on text pops). - Clean Typography: Strict adherence to our font stack (heavy geometric sans-serif for titles, clean literary serif for historical quotes, and monospace code fonts for coordinates/technical data). Key Responsibilities: - Edit full 8–10 minute video essays from a provided script and voiceover track. - Animate high-end historical maps and interactive geographical paths. - Source high-resolution, public-domain historical artwork, museum archives, and manuscript fragments (no generic stock footage loops). - Execute full sound design, mixing background tracks with highly synchronized audio effects. Required Skills & Tools: - Expert proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (or DaVinci Resolve equivalent). - Deep experience with map animation tools (highly prefer experience with GeoLayers 3 integrated with Mapbox or similar workflows). - A portfolio demonstrating advanced motion graphics, kinetic typography, and documentary-style pacing. - Impeccable organization and attention to detail regarding historical accuracy.
