Long-form Video Editor Wanted – Personal Development YouTube Channel (700K Subscribers)

We run one of the most ambitious personal development channels on YouTube, with nearly 700,000 subscribers and a growing community. The Role: Lead Editor for Leon Hendrix Youtube Channel We're looking for a sharp, detail-oriented Assistant Editor to join our production workflow (with potential to move into a full video editor role). That includes: - Cutting down raw footage to the best takes - Organizing the timeline according to the script - Sourcing relevant, high-quality b-roll - Text graphic overlays and lower thirds - Simple motion graphics and animations - General timeline organization and flow. As of now, we will have you working in coordination with our current Lead Editor (currently Leon) to provide in managing the early stages of the process while receiving revision notes and handing off the project for polishing. As ideal workflow and consistency is built and your understanding of our style deepens, this can evolve into a full editor position with more ownership over the final cut. Your First Task (paid test project) We have a video in production right now and we need the raw footage to be edited according to the responsibilities above. For this first project, we want to see how you handle the foundational edit of the first 2-3 minutes. We will have the test project run for roughly 5-hours of working time and then review what you have completed so far. Here's exactly what you'll be doing: 1. Review the material: You'll receive a storyboard and script, the raw footage (talking-head and zoom interview clips). 2. Cut anything not relevant to the storyline. Remove unusable takes and keep the best takes + 1-2 backups (on separate tracks). 3. Organize into structured sequences: Build separate, clearly-labeled sequences for each stage — (a) all footage cut down, (b) footage organized, (c) storyline assembled — using text blocks in the timeline to mark chapters/sections (intro, key sound bites, placeholders for clips or b-roll, etc.) if necessary. 4. Add music tracks (provided) 5. Add B-Roll and graphics where applicable. 6. Deliver the project file for our review of what you have completed so far. What We're Looking For - Must be proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro (this is what our workflow runs on — other NLEs aren't a substitute) - Already using AI for editing assistance or willingness to learn the tools we use. - Clean, organized timeline habits - Fast turnaround with minimal back-and-forth - Strong, responsive communication with high English proficiency - A genuine interest in our video topics is a big plus.
