Job Title: Senior BIM Software Engineer (.NET & Cloud) Job Type: Full-time Job Overview We are looking for a Senior BIM Software Engineer specializing in openBIM standards and Microsoft Enterprise Cloud solutions. In this role, you will bridge the gap between complex 3D architectural data and enterprise-grade cloud environments. You will architect robust C# algorithms, build scalable Web APIs, and design automated data pipelines that seamlessly connect BIM datasets (IFC, BCF, IDS) with Microsoft cloud platforms, SharePoint workspaces, and enterprise analytics ecosystems. Key Responsibilities openBIM & Spatial Data Processing: Develop high-performance C# algorithms to parse IFC files (IFC2x3, IFC4), extract spatial and geometric metadata, and map BIM datasets into relational, graph, or NoSQL cloud databases. Model Validation & Compliance: Implement programmatic auditing and quality control engines using Information Delivery Specification (IDS) frameworks to validate incoming 3D models against project standards. Issue & Coordination Management: Engineer workflows and automated logic using BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) to track and process model coordination issues across teams. Enterprise Workspace Integration: Build custom extensions, web parts, and workspace integrations using the SharePoint Framework (SPFx) and Microsoft Graph API to connect BIM data into SharePoint, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams. Cloud Architecture & Data Pipelines: Design and deploy event-driven serverless applications on Microsoft Azure (Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Service Bus) and route enterprise datasets into platforms such as Microsoft Fabric or Azure Foundry for advanced analytics. Performance & Algorithm Optimization: Optimize spatial tree-traversal data structures, geometry parsing logic, and query execution to handle heavy spatial assets with minimal latency. Technical Leadership & Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with BIM managers, cloud architects, and software engineers; review code, promote software engineering best practices, and evaluate emerging openBIM open-source toolkits. Requirements & Qualifications Experience Minimum of 4+ years of professional software engineering experience using the Microsoft Tech Stack (C#, .NET Core / .NET 8, ASP.NET Core APIs). Core Technical Skills Deep proficiency in C# and building scalable, secure RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Core. Hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure (Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Service Bus). Strong capability in navigating complex spatial structures and tree-traversal algorithms (e.g., navigating elements from Project ➔ Site ➔ Building ➔ Storey ➔ Element). Specialized Domain Expertise Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong proficiency in at least one of the following technical domains: openBIM Specialization: Direct experience with openBIM standards (IFC schemas, BCF workflows, and IDS rules) and hands-on usage of open-source geometry engines/toolkits (e.g., xbim toolkit, IfcOpenShell). Microsoft Enterprise Specialization: Proven experience in SharePoint extension development using SPFx (SharePoint Framework), deep system integration via Microsoft Graph API, and exposure to enterprise data architectures (Microsoft Fabric, Palantir / Azure Foundry). Architecture & Best Practices Solid understanding of cloud design patterns, event-driven architecture, and API security protocols. Strong background in object-oriented design, data structures, and database schema design. Soft Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail when handling complex data structures. Excellent technical communication skills, with the ability to articulate architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proven ability to manage complex integration tasks independently in an Agile software development environment. Nice to Have Experience with web-based 3D graphics frameworks (WebGL, Three.js, or Autodesk APS / Forge) for browser-based IFC rendering. Understanding of ISO 19650 standards and digital twin architecture. Experience developing custom connectors for the Microsoft Power Platform. Familiarity with modern frontend development (React, TypeScript) for SPFx and web dashboards.
