Luxury Packaging Designer — Hyperrealistic Beauty Subscription Box
Worldwide
We're creating a beauty subscription box that features multiple brands in every delivery, and we're looking for a designer to create the packaging ... the physical box, structure, materials, and finishes ... at a true luxury level. The gold standard we keep coming back to is Gucci: clean, confident, impeccably finished, and luxurious without trying too hard. That's the feeling we want to capture and make our own. For clarity, this is a packaging design project. We're hiring someone to design a beautiful, premium box — its form, its structure, its materials, and how it presents multiple beauty products inside. A note on who we're looking for: We're specifically looking for designers with beauty packaging experience. Beauty is its own world — the aesthetics, the materials, the way products are showcased — and we've found it really does take someone who has worked in this space to get it right. If your background is in beauty or cosmetics packaging, we'd love to hear from you. If it isn't, this likely isn't the right fit, and that's okay. The packaging we're after We want a box that feels unmistakably luxury from the outside in. Here's what matters most to us: -A refined, premium exterior. A box that signals luxury before it's even opened — beautiful proportions, clean lines, impeccable finish. -Elevated materials and finishes. Smooth, soft, modern luxury. (A note on taste: we're not fans of embossing or hot foil stamping, so please lean away from that look.) -Thoughtful interior structure. Inserts and dividers that hold each brand's product securely and present them like they matter — organized, elegant, with room to breathe rather than crowded. -Considered details. A satisfying closure, a ribbon pull, a branded seal, a thoughtful card — small touches that make the whole thing feel intentional and polished. -A premium opening. The box should open in a way that feels special — a clean, satisfying reveal of the products inside. Throughout, we're drawn to restraint: beautiful materials and elegant finishes over clutter or heavy ornamentation. What you'll be designing toward: We'll provide our vision and reference imagery for the look and feel. The designer we award the project will take that direction and develop an original design — so we want someone who can elevate inspiration into something distinctly their own. You have real creative latitude here; we're giving you the feeling, not a rulebook. Deliverables — a collaborative, two-phase process: The project moves in two phases: Phase 1 — Concepts. At least three distinct design directions (storyboards, mockups, concept boards — whatever suits your process), each a different take on the packaging. We'd love a short walkthrough of your thinking with each one: the choices behind the structure, the materials and finishes, how the products are arranged inside, the closure and opening, and any special touches you'd build in (a magnetic close, a ribbon pull, a hidden compartment, an interior video screen, and so on). We'll review together, share feedback, and approve a direction to take forward. Phase 2 — Final renders. Once we've aligned on a concept, you'll produce the finished hyperrealistic imagery: -3 hyperrealistic images of the box closed -3 hyperrealistic images of the box open, showing the interior structure and how the multi-brand products are presented inside These final images should read as real product photography — photorealistic renders, not flat mockups. To apply, please include: Examples of beauty packaging you've designed (portfolio, past concepts, or relevant work). Please note, food & beverage, apparel, etc will not be considered samples will not be considered. If this sounds like you, we'd love to see your work.
