MCP Developer – Build a Custom Claude (MCP) Integration for Our Business Tool

Summary We're a small business looking for an experienced developer to build a custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) server that lets our team use Claude to interact directly with one of our core business tools — reading, creating, and updating records without leaving Claude. Scope of Work Build an MCP server exposing read/write actions against our tool's API (API key provided to the selected freelancer) Follow the MCP specification so it integrates cleanly with Claude Desktop, the Claude Agent SDK, and Claude Code Implement core operations: reading records, creating/updating records, and basic search (exact endpoint list confirmed at kickoff) Handle authentication securely (environment variables / secrets — no hardcoded keys) Include basic error handling and clear logging for debugging Deliver a short README covering setup, configuration, and how to run/connect the server What We'll Provide API key and documentation for the target tool Access to a test/sandbox account, where available What We're Looking For Solid experience with Node.js or Python and REST API integrations Familiarity with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) — prior MCP server projects strongly preferred Comfortable working independently from a written spec, asking clarifying questions when needed Clear communicator, able to turn this around within a few weeks To Apply Please share examples of MCP servers or API integrations you've built, along with a brief note on your approach to this project.
